Nigeria’s Afrobeats superstars Kizz Daniel and Timaya will debut in Kigali in July this year as much-anticipated headlines African Giant 2025 Closing Concert.
The festival returns to the capital of Rwanda from July 26 to August 2, 2025, and will celebrate the exciting lineup of African music, sports and empowering youth with the results of the two killers.
Known for their chart-topping songs and dynamic performances, Kizz Daniel will be the center stage with Dancehall heavyweight Timaya, bringing their iconic sounds to a week-long event and bringing it together. Their performance will be the finale of the festival, which is expected to have more than 20,000 spectators and 320 young athletes from 20 African countries.
this African Giant’s DayMasai Ujiri, Vice Chairman and Toronto Raptors President, grew into one of Africa’s major youth development programs. Apart from basketball, it has become a cultural sport that combines sports, music, fashion and education. This year’s festival will be open with performances from South African DJ Sensation Uncle Waffleaward-winning choreography Sherrie Silverand Rwandan singers Kevin Kade.
In addition to the All-Star concert, the festival will host youth basketball games, leadership programs and the unveiling of Zaria Court, a new integrated sports and entertainment district established by Ujiri. Attendees can also look forward to clues from African fashion shows, thus focusing on contemporary African designers from Cameroon, Niger, Rwanda and South Africa.
Since its establishment in 2003 African giant Young Africans have been empowered through basketball camps and court building projects in 20 countries. The 2023 edition has more than 14,000 attendees, with an estimated $1.5 million injecting into Kigali’s local economy, a legacy designed to surpass in 2025.
With the star power of Kizz Daniel and Timaya, 2025 African Giant Inspired as an exciting celebration of African talent and solidarity, thus enhancing the growing influence of African American and African culture on the global stage.
