Some members of Kogi Central have initiated recall procedures against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the National Assembly’s Senate.
The move was amid dissatisfaction with her actions and alleged misconduct.
Several videos on social media surfaced Wednesday, showing voters lined up to sign petitions in support of the recall process.
Public support for the recall plan shows that it gained a lot of appeal among the people of Kogi Central.
Sources who requested to remain anonymous confirmed the development, noting that the recall process is indeed in progress and significant efforts have been made to mobilize voters.
The source added that voters united and they removed Akpoti-udughan from the office.
The recall campaign follows serious charges by Akpoti-udughan, who accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexually harassing her.

The process of recalling senators is clearly outlined under Article 69 of the 1999 Constitution. It involves voters in the Senate constituency, the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) and referendum.
The recall process is expected to take place within the next two days, covering all voting units in the five local government areas (LGAs) that make up Kogi Central Senate District.
During this period, voters will be required to sign a petition to INEC, requiring the senator to be removed from office.
After submitting the petition, INEC will verify the signatures of each component to ensure they are registered voters in the Senate District.
After verification, INEC will continue to the next step of the legal outline, which may lead to a formal recall of the senator.
