Kogi LG chair imposes curfew before visiting Natasha's constituency

On Monday, the Oki Local Government Regional President of Kogi State, Kogi State, imposed a curfew throughout the council area, citing security concerns in the absence of political gatherings and unregulated public gatherings.

In a statement signed and issued in person, the Chairman said the curfew was necessary to maintain peace and order with the instructions of the Kogi State Government and the State Police Chief.

“The curfew will come into effect immediately, limiting movements and gatherings in designated areas. Anyone who finds roaming or assembled without permission from the relevant authorities will be arrested and prosecuted.”

Stressing on Monday that the safety and stability of residents remained the top priority of his government, warning that any action that could undermine public peace would not be tolerated.

He added: “The security of our people is crucial. We will not allow any situation that could endanger peace and stability in the community.”

The Chairman noted that the decision to impose a curfew was a positive measure to prevent any potential safety violations.

The curfew was proposed in the plan of Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan to make a return visit to his voters today on April 1.
