The Kwara State Police Command has officially confirmed the abduction of two Chinese nationals working at a road construction site in the state. The incident marks a serious escalation in security challenges faced by foreign workers and residents in Kwara.

Two Chinese citizens were abducted from a road construction site in Kwara State. The police confirmed that the abduction occurred in the early morning of Monday, December 2, 2025.

According to security sources, the workers were working on the BUA Bode Saadu/Kaiama/Kosubosu road project when masked gunmen attacked the site between 11pm and 4am. The construction site is located in Ejidongari District, Moro Local Government Area.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation on Thursday night. He said that so far, the kidnappers have not made contact with authorities or the victims’ families.

Security sources told reporters that the attackers fired continuously for about two to three hours before taking the Chinese workers to an unknown location. The prolonged shooting was reportedly intended to intimidate residents and staff at the facility. The construction site is less than two kilometers from the village of Bielesin/Fallah, near Olokiti. No casualties were reported except for the two abducted men.
