Labor leadership denied reports that it had divided its 2027 presidential vote into the southeast.
National Propaganda Minister Obiora Ifoh refuted the rumor in a statement. He insisted that the party did not divide any of its locations into any geographical area or individual.
ifoh clarified a statement attributed to the party’s president and noted that he (Abure) was cited for context.
He said Abure’s statement on Sunday titled: “2027: Labour can still make Ndigbo the presidency – abure’, without mentioning that the party’s division will make it in 2027 Tickets are partitioned to the Southeast.
Ifoho said the president suggested only a few Southeast members at one gathering that they could still hold the presidency if they were more united and able to engage with other groups.
He also said that Abure tried to say that Labour was a veritable platform for Ndigbo’s wishes.
“Labor is a national party with a large following across the country, so the zoning problem won’t arise.
In the 2023 general election, the party won seats in the northern and southern states, and we are working to surpass this achievement in future elections.
Candidates for each position must emerge through a highly competitive and democratic process, as the party’s constitution does not allow partitions.
Therefore, we regret the misunderstanding of the parties’ lofty intentions of the Party in part. Our political parties are cited for context. ” he said.
