Julius Abure, the chairman of the Labor State (LP), accused the party’s elected MP of failing to make financial contributions to its growth.
He said that since he was elected in 2023, no lawmaker has donated money to the party.
Abure shared his grievances at a town hall meeting organized by the party’s Lagos State branch.
Further, he vowed that those parallel structures that incite the party would face serious consequences
This is included in a statement signed by the party’s national propaganda secretary A liarFriday in Abuja.
He cites Abure to call on working with observers’ families to register for members who own the party in order to qualify for the upcoming Congress scheduled for June and July 2025.
Abure said:We are willing and ready to absorb all the enclosures into the Labor Party. All you need to do is go to the ward and register as a contradictory person. The party has only one structure. All the others are forged.
“One party can’t have two conflicting structures, one party can only have one structure, and I suggest that if you don’t want to be excluded from the scheme of things, find the way you get into the main structure. Those who are doing parallel structures, the candidate structure will be lost at the end of the day.”
Regarding the relationship between the party and the elected members, the lawyer said:It is a fact that they do not respect political parties. The truth is, they did not contribute to the party. As I spoke to you today, we have not received a Kobo at the national level from those elected to the National Assembly.
“The responsibility to join the party remains relevant to the party’s leadership. As of today, we have six senators, about 30 delegates and numerous members of the House, but none of these senators have contributed a dime to the party since they were elected in 2023, which will shock you.
“Let them ask about other parties, and it is the ones selected under the platform that provide funding for the party. Today, most of them want to control the local government and want us to hand over their own constituencies to them, but they are not ready to work with or work with the party. Is this fair?”
The President also promised to investigate the dissatisfaction of the loyal Lagos state party in Lagos State. He said “I would like to call on our members in Lagos State that they may have one complaint or another due to the imperfection witnessed in the 2023 election to put their complaint aside.
“We cannot continue to live. Those who have not received party tickets in the 2023 election may have the opportunity to do so in 2027. For some special circumstances, I beg you to introduce this to the leaders of the political party, rather than fighting us on social media.
