Labour exploded the APC in the shameful Lagos parliamentary crisis and allegedly betrayed public trust.
Nigeria News Nalin Labour, Lagos State, has described all the crisis of the Progressive Assembly APC as a state capitol, a betrayal of trust in the people and a recklessness of the urgent need for residents distracted people.
LP State Chairman Dr. Dayo Ekong responded to the latest developments in Monday’s conference, with dismissal spokesman Mudashiru Obasa being elected and his former Mojisola Meranda resigned and re-elected as deputy speaker.
“I expressed deep disappointment from our party in the ongoing chaos at the Lagos State Capitol, where Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and lawmakers turned governance into a spectacle of infighting,” Ekon said.
“This shameful display of the lawmakers led by the APC is a betrayal of trust in the people and an urgent attention of the reckless Lagos.
“The elected leaders were sworn in, but these legislators chose selfish people over the public interest.
“Although Lagos endured a collapsed infrastructure, insecurity and poverty, the Assembly was paralyzed by trivial power struggles and allegations of misconduct.
“Taxpayer resources and legislative time are wasting resolution of avoidable conflicts – and that is the responsibility that arises.
“Democracy cannot work with leaders prioritizing personal welfare.
“Labor demands immediate, transparent resolution: All charges must be investigated independently and held accountable.
“We remind the MPs that their mission comes from Lagosians, not political godfathers.
“This crisis underscores the need for a new era of selfless leadership.
“Labor remains committed to taking responsibility for Lagos, inclusive governance.
“We urge the Council to stop this charm and return to work or put aside for those who prioritize services rather than conflict.
“Enough. Lagos deserves better.”
