A Nigerian woman is attracting attention online for accurately predicting the outcome of the World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Democratic Republic of the Congo finally sealing the victory through a penalty shootout. Remarkably, the prediction the woman shared the day before the game turned out to be correct.

Identified as @BigZaynabu on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that her predictions came from a dream. She posted, “Nigeria 🇳🇬 1 – 1 Dr Congo. Dr Congo won on penalties 😂❤️. This was my dream last night. I don’t blame Amsha but I just want to say it now.”

Her tweet quickly went viral, racking up more than 14,000 likes and being viewed more than 1 million times.

After the loss, Super Eagles head coach Eric Scherer spoke during the game, confirming that the two sides were tied 1-1 after overtime, with the Democratic Republic of Congo winning 4-3 in the penalty shootout. He added that he was disturbed by the fact that a Congolese official appeared to be performing some sort of ritual during punishment.

Cele also praised Nigeria’s early goals but lamented the missed opportunities that could have changed the outcome.

Looking ahead, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with matches taking place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
