
The victim was injured in an explosion at a CCTV dealer store near the computer village in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

A dealer at the popular tech hub told Punch on Sunday that the victim succumbed to injuries yesterday.
“We lost one of them on Saturday night. The doctors worked hard to save him, but he didn’t. They are currently working to save someone’s lives.”
Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Department, confirmed the incident was around 6:35 p.m.
According to PPRO, operators from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) department, mobile police units and other police teams immediately blocked the scene to ensure public safety.
“The order’s EOD experts swept the scene to ensure residents’ safety and facilitate a comprehensive investigation to determine the actual cause of the explosion,” Hundeyin said.
It is said that police commissioner CP Owohunwa Adegoke also visited the scene for on-site assessment shortly after the incident.
Hundeyin added that five people injured during the explosion were taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
He also confirmed the victim’s d3ath.
He added: “Yes, we’ve learned that one of them is Saturday.”
When asked about the status of the investigation, the police image maker said: “The investigation is still ongoing. We will make it public immediately after the investigation.”
