    Lagos doesn't smell, Lagos is developing - Water and Environment Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab said,

    Lagos State Water and Environment Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab dismissed what the state smelled,

    Some argue repeatedly that the “center of excellence” in Nigeria smelled it.

    Wahab raised objections in a statement released tonight, believing that Lagos is not smelling it, but is growing. he wrote;

    “The Lagos State Government is fully committed to environmental sustainability and has developed a comprehensive multi-sector approach to ensure clean, resilient and livable cities. In a fast-growing big value like Lagos, waste and hygiene challenges require structural solutions, not voice or political rhetoric.

    Lagos does not “smell”; Lagos is developing – sustainable waste processing, modern landfill management, clean waterways and structured sanitation systems.

    @followlasg is firmly committed to building a cleaner and more sustainable city through strategic environmental plans.

    One of the key areas of focus is waste management and efforts to decommission landfills, improve sanitation enforcement and the transition to waste-to-energy solutions. In addition, the state has strengthened flood control measures to ensure drainage access remains clear ahead of the expected high rainfall in 2025. ”
