Lagos government urges Lekki in Ikorodu

The Lagos government urged residents of Lekki in Ikorodu to relocate to relocate the looming flood threat, and the Lagos state government issued a key warning to residents of flood-prone communities urging them to move to safer areas immediately as heavy rainfall and flooding floods are flooding and flooding to affect a part of the state.

By contrast, Wahab noted that while he urged residents across the state to continue monitoring official updates and avoid complacency, EPE, Mushin and Ikeja are still relatively safe at present.

The warnings on the rain and flooded streets were after heavy downpours that began on Sunday evening, August 3, and continued until Monday, August 4, causing severe damage in several areas of Lagos. Viral videos on social media show vehicles stuck, flooded houses and major roads were flooded, especially in the corridors of Ajah, Lekki and Ikorodu. The flood paralyzes business activities and commuting movements, further exacerbating the struggle for residents who have already dealt with economic difficulties and poor infrastructure.
