
A recent survey showed that men in Lagos State spent an estimated 6.61 billion guilds on commercial sex workers in 2024.
According to an investigation by investor and investment banker Kayode Mo (@kayomosebi), the survey was N661 billion guilds, paying 32.9 billion guilds to hire the girls, while 332 billion guilds are used for other related expenses.
Surveys were conducted to establish commercial S3X work, market value and economic importance of participants.
Statistical analysis claims that of 1.86 million sexually active men in 20 local government areas in Lagos, among which 1.1 million sexually active men are engaged in sexual intercourse with nonpartisans.
The average interest rate charged by S3X workers is N36,750 and the lowest rate is N20,000.
ETI-OSA local government area appears as the highest priced location, with the transaction S3X priced at up to 100,000.
The area is known for its focus on wealth and business activities and is home to wealthy communities such as Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki.

The survey further details the 329 billion guilds received by sex workers.
Of the 93 billion guilds received by sex workers, 93 billion guilds are used for “body and skin maintenance products including natural hair”.
The study shows that sex workers provide support to their families at 62.5 billion guilds.
Another 62.5 billion guilds are spent on “clothing, accessories, rent, car and electronic rental, fitness and healthy living”.
Investments in businesses, including “crypto, trade, forex and betting”, totaling 46 billion guilds.
Health and education account for 15 billion guilds respectively, covering fees such as “antibiotics, supplements, STD treatment, examinations, bachelor’s degree, coursework, project writers and settlements”.
In addition to paying directly to sex workers, the Lagos man also spent 332 billion guilds in related expenses.
“Entertainment, Food and Treatment” accounts for 150.6 billion guilds.

The report concluded that “drugs, sexual enhancers, stimulators and sexual accessories also collectively earned 33.4 billion guilds during the period.”
