The Lagos State Police Department debunked repeated consultations on social media, allegedly circulated from the command, involving an increase in kidnapping along the Gabada Highway.
The order here affirms that the claim of such a security alarm issued by the Lagos State Police Command is wrong.
The fake consulting firm first surfaced in January 2024 and was quickly debunked, the command spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement issued on March 28. It appeared again in September 2024 and was debunked again. Sadly, the supplier of fake news has eliminated it again in March 2025.
“Nevertheless, the order was not aware of the concerns raised in the alarm. Therefore, the police chief of Lagos State Command CP Olohundare Jimoh ordered an immediate review of the secure buildings throughout the region, carried out by the affected department police (DPOS) and the district commander and district commander, aiming to prevent it.
The improved safety architecture will be frequently reviewed and optimized to ensure absolute safety for road users, residents of the region, and the entire people of Lagos State. To this end, CP Jimoh urged Lagosians to conduct legal business without fear of harassment or intimidation. ”
Likewise, the order urges Lagosians to remain safe and report any suspicious activity around them to the nearest police station, or call 08065154338, 08063299264, or call the command control room of the Lagos State Police Department, or 091292922222222222222222222222222222276.
Hundeyin added that CP Jimoh had issued an order requiring the Detective Command to follow the trail of naughty individuals behind this misconduct to raise unnecessary fear and worry among Lagos, with the right to arrest and prosecute them.
“Vendors of fake news are also warned to avoid such crimes or face the full anger of the law,” he said.
