
The Lagos State Police Department has confirmed that 11 victims have been rescued and three people who run a baby factory in the Iyergen area of the state have been arrested.
The command spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a press conference at the state police department on Monday that the illegal operation was discovered after a prompt on April 5, 2025. Handin said police raided the factory and arrested three people, including the facility operator, Mariam Vincent, 35, and two accomplices, Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18.
He further explained that during the raid, officers were able to rescue several victims, including three children aged seven, five and two.
During the operation, seven women and three children went against their will. Adult victims have been identified as precious (24), Magdalin (25), Adaby (23), Princess (22), ifeanyi (25) and Amaka (26). The rescued child is fate, a 7-year-old boy. Miracle, a 5-year-old girl; success, a 2-year-old girl.
He mentioned that the rescued person is currently receiving proper care and support.
During the trial, the suspect reportedly admitted that the suspect kidnapped the victim from different parts of the state for the purpose of operating the baby factory.
Police said the investigation is underway and the suspect will be prosecuted accordingly.
