The Lagos State Government has announced plans to introduce vehicle boards to identify people with disabilities in the state.
Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi said at a ministerial press conference in 2025, commemorating Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second year as governor.
“The authorities can also produce custom 716 high-end car panels and 347 motorcycles with motorcycle fancy plates as required,” he said.
The Commissioner added that LSNPPA produced 224 sales digital boards based on special requirements and unique numbering requirements.
“The authorities have released 11,152 standard board replacements, 212 motorcycle board replacements and 63 standard alternatives to maintain accurate vehicle identification,” he said.
“They also produced 428 official sections, 1,510 dealer boards and 4,000 articulated license plates.”
Osiyemi said the authority, in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Force (FRSC), is developing a plan that will lead to the production of digital boards, which will be consistent with the “Go Gre Green” program.
Regarding the fading of the digital board, he said the state uses high-quality materials in its production.
“We should also understand that the fading of the digital board is a function of the materials we use to clean the car, which are very corrosive.
“We should also know that as people live, the number of plates is the same; they should change when needed,” he said.
