Areva local government chairman Sani Aliyu confirmed the attack on channel television. This follows a recent operation by security forces backed by Kebi State Governor Nasir Idris, leading to the death of Maigemu, the leader of the Lakurawa Group. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to address the activities of armed groups in the Northwest region.
