The gunman is suspected of being a Rakhon terrorist with two customs officials and a local man. Bachaka is a border community in the Kebbi State Argungu local government area.
Kebbi State Police spokesman SP Nafiu Abubakar confirmed the incident on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
He said the attack occurred on Tuesday, March 25, but pointed out that the specific department or composition of the killed customs personnel has not been determined.
“Yes, an attack occurred, resulting in the killing of two unidentified customs officers and a Bachaka village,” he said.
Kebi State Police Chief Sani Bello visited the scene and reiterated the commitment of security forces to address criminals, noting that the attackers’ actions are a sign of their vulnerability due to ongoing security operations.
The attack happened just 24 hours after the merger of security forces and two terrorists in Lakurava terrorists.
