    Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic University’s last year student, Ikot Osurua, in the Ikot Ekpene local government area of ​​Akwa Ibom State, was identified as John Akpan, fell and D during karate training!

    A source close to the Polytechnic Institute told Punch that students from the institution’s higher national diploma program in the Department of Media Studies left their students’ hotel for karate training on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

    According to sources, he fainted when he entered the stadium immediately and was taken to a private hospital in Ikot Ekpene, where he was referred to the general hospital Ikot Ekpene.

    Nsoefen Mark Akpan, president of the Student Association of News and Media Research, witnessed the incident firsthand, and after a closer examination, the hospital’s doctors announced the deceased died on arrival.

    Akpan said the student who refused to accept doctor reports brought the deceased to church for prayer, but he was refused.

    Then, a spiritualist proposed to restore the victim, but failed, and later claimed that the deceased had been accepted into the spiritual world.

    “At this point, we sent the body back to the morgue, but the students were still waiting for the colleagues to be D3AD,” he said.

    Akpan said department head, Dr. Inemesit Umore, came to the hospital and spoke to students before leaving the hospital when they deposited the body in the body after contacting her parents.

    Akpan further revealed that the young man wrote the exam last Thursday and showed no signs of illness.

    According to him, the deceased was the head of karate training and worked every Saturday morning.
