The latest update on the injuries suffered by Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has emerged following the club’s recent statement.
Barcelona’s Jules Kounde will miss the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan due to a hamstring injury diagnosed on Thursday.
The French right-back had to leave the court in a strong 3-3 draw in the first leg on Wednesday. With the crucial return game scheduled for next Tuesday in San Siro, Barcelona confirmed his injury in an official statement: “Tests conducted this morning showed first-team player Jules Kounde injured in his left thigh.”
Although the club has not specified how long he will stay, he participated in his involvement on May 11 at Krasico of Real Madrid in La Liga. Additionally, he will meet with Real Valladolid’s Barcelona league on Saturday.
Barcelona are currently leading four points in their fierce rival Real Madrid and are competing for a four-fold historic quarter this season.
In the match against Inter Milan, Eric Garcia stepped in to report for Kounde after setting off at the Olympic Stadium in the second half.
Kounde, 26, has been a major player in Barcelona this season, holding 53 games in all competitions. His absence could be a major blow to the team as they continue to pursue silverware.
