A lawyer shared an experience with a married man who took his wife to change her maiden name and signature.
The lawyer explained that the man came with his wife and asked the affidavit to be renamed at the bank. He insisted that his wife had removed his father’s name and placed his name.
The lawyer describes how the man spoke to his wife, just as she wasn’t there. But when the attorney told the man what it needed, including financial expenses, he remembered his wife was there and turned to her to pay.
After paying and drafting an affidavit, it’s time for the new wife to sign. When the husband saw her signature and noticed that it included her maiden name, he also insisted that she changed the signature.
The lawyer said she intervened and asked the man to keep his wife in her signature, but he insisted she changed that, too.
The lawyer said: “No! You can’t see her father’s name in that signature? She has to delete it.”
But when the attorney told him about the financial impact of this, he reluctantly allowed his wife to keep her signature.
