An old social media post from 2023 by controversial internet critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) has resurfaced, sparking fresh reactions amid his ongoing criticism of Afrobeat star Wizkid.
The post, dated December 26, 2023, shows that VeryDarkMan appears to be seeking financial support from Wizkid. In the now viral message, he questioned Nigerians for not helping him get help from the singer and directly tagged Wizkid asking to be contacted.
In the post, VeryDarkMan referred to Wizkid by several of his popular aliases and openly suggested that the superstar “write him some checks,” implying that he needed financial help.
The post’s resurface has reignited debate online, especially in light of VeryDarkMan’s recent and sustained attacks on Wizkid. Many social media users pointed out that the old messages contradicted his current stance.
In response to the popular post, a user named @Honour Oriretan shared a detailed comment explaining why he believes VeryDarkMan is allegedly unhappy with the Afrobeats star.
The user wrote: “This is why VDM laughs at Wizkid and hates him so much~~ It’s unwise for VDM to personally hate Wizkid so casually because he doesn’t give in to his ego like other “big guys” and it makes him angry and triggers so many hats on him.

Keep in mind that he also did the same thing, played the same game on Obi Cubana, and after a drag and an envelope possibly touching his hand, the two connected, making the two very close friends, until now, when the task was once again very complete, which was very unwise.
Now this is why VDM hates WIZKID so much::
VDM has been trying to get Wizkid’s attention like he did with Burna, Davido, Don Jazzy and Obi Cubana but Wizkid has not given him any attention despite him having gone from praise to drag multiple times over the years with his big name, huge influence and big platform that he is widely acclaimed for.
No replying to VDM messages as others quickly did, no commenting on VDM posts as others did cheaply, no transferring personal and NGO funds to VDM accounts, no video calls to VDM, no worshiping VDM as others quickly did, nothing but total silence like VDM does not exist, which is wise, not unwise.
That’s what VDM does, and that’s not necessarily what the whole Fela talk is about. .just looking for something to use against him to vent his anger, uh, hatred, and that’s what he did.
The worst thing you can do to a very popular celebrity is to act like you don’t know him/her when you walk past each other.
This thing is making them miserable and the same pot is boiling and roasting VDM’s heart which has triggered all this unending hatred and ridicule towards Wizkid, forgetting that Wizkid has a unique personality and sticks to his own line and doesn’t want anyone to sully his whiteness, which is wise and not unwise.
He also taunted and abused Bernard, Davido, Tang Jaz, Obi Kubana, breaking their wings for him and putting them under him, the same game he played on Wizkid, but Wizkid seemed much bigger than that and didn’t need his intimacy, which was wise…not unwise! se.
