Linnaeus University currently offers two different scholarship programs: Linnaeus University Scholarships and Linnaeus University Current Student Scholarships.
The scholarship program is offered to students pursuing Master’s programmes. Students can only apply for this scholarship forward Start the program.
Linnaeus University Current Students is offered to students who have enrolled in a two- or three-year continuing course at Linnaeus University. Students can only apply for this scholarship back Start the program.
Important information about Linnaeus University Scholarships
This scholarship covers 75% of tuition fees, please see details below for application. Applications for this scholarship are currently unavailable. The next round of applications will open on February 8, 2023, for students who will start their studies at Linnaeus University in autumn 2023. Last day to apply is February 20th at 13:00 PM (1:00 PM CET)
There are a variety of scholarships available, each offering up to 75% tuition fee reduction for the entire course. The scholarship will be awarded initially for one semester, but will be automatically extended for the duration of the study program (2 to 4 semesters) if academic performance is satisfactory.

Scholarship research areas:
Master’s degree programs in any discipline
In order to meet the general entry requirements for master’s degree studies, a bachelor’s degree is usually required. However, in order to study a single subject course at master’s level, it is sometimes sufficient to study 90 credits in the same subject area as the relevant course. Additionally, different courses or courses often have specific entry requirements. Please refer to the prior knowledge requirements for each course or program for correct admission requirements.

Master’s degree programs can award either a 1-year master’s degree (60 credits) or a 2-year master’s degree (120 credits). Some courses lead to professional qualifications. It is also possible to integrate your own master’s degree based on single-subject courses. Some degrees also qualify you to apply for a Ph.D.

English language requirements
In order to be eligible to study at a Swedish university, students must demonstrate that they meet the English language requirements for the course or program they wish to apply for. For information about the English proficiency requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR*, etc.) required to meet English Level 5 and English Level 6 requirements, please visit Universityadmissions.se.
Scholarship Timetable
Late January/early February – All students who apply as their first choice to a master’s program at Linnaeus University on www.universityadmissions.se will receive an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship and a link to the application form. Please be sure to check your Junk/Spam folder. The email was sent on February 8th.
February 8, 2023 – The application opens.
February 20, 2023 – Application deadline is 13:00 (1:00 PM CET)
End of April—— Announcement on who will receive the Linnaeus University Scholarship

The motivation letter should contain a maximum of 600 words. Please answer the following questions in your motivation letter:
- Why do you want to study this program at Linnaeus University?
- In addition to academic excellence, what other qualities do you possess?
- What are your career aspirations?
Student Eligibility for Linnaeus University Scholarship
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following criteria:
• From countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
• Have applied to the Linnaeus University Master’s program via www.universityadmissions.se by January 16th and sent/uploaded all required documents by February 1st.
• Select Linnaeus University as your first choice when applying at www.universityadmissions.se
• Pay the application fee to www.universityadmissions.se before February 1st.
• Completed the application form before the application deadline.
Application instructions:
To be eligible for the Linnaeus University Scholarship, candidates must submit a program application via www.universityadmissions.se January 16, 2023. All students who apply for a master’s program at Linnaeus University as their first choice at www.universityadmissions.se will receive an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship and a link to the application form. The deadline for scholarship applications is February 20, 2023.
