Premier League champion Liverpool issued a formal statement confirming reports of the tragic death of its soccer player Diogo Jota in a car accident.
The club said they were shocked by the news and would not say more about his family.
Statement read,”Liverpool Football Club was damaged by a tragic pass from Diogo Jota. The club was told the 28-year-old died after a road accident in Spain with his brother Andre. Liverpool Football Club will not comment any more at this time and ask Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff to be respected as they try to satisfy unimaginable losses. We will continue to provide them with our full support. ”
