? madman? Arrested with 27 SIM cards in Lagos

Soldiers from the residential security forces in Lagos State arrested a Godwin, allegedly disguised as a mentally unstable person for possessing 27 SIM cards.

The agency said in a statement released that the suspect noticed his suspicious movement in several complaints from EPE residents. Residents claim that the suspect had several shelter in an abandoned building near T-Junction in EPE. They claimed they saw him changing clothes every morning and often had late-night phone conversations.

EPE Command operators acted on prompts during a routine patrol on Monday, found the suspect temporarily absent from his usual location and decided to search for a security post where the SIM card was found.

“On May 5, during routine patrols, residents informed officials that the suspect was temporarily absent from the area. Taking action quickly, the patrol searched the structure and found 27 registered SIM cards hidden in part of the block wall.

Officials were immediately dispatched and Goldwin was arrested shortly after returning to the site. During the interrogation, he confirmed his identity and background, but refused to disclose the location of any phones associated with the SIM card. ”

The statement added that local food suppliers confirmed reports of the suspect’s strange behavior, noting that despite his unstable lifestyle, he often performed well mentally.

Since then, the suspect has been handed over to the police. However, the State Police Command dismissed the claim that the suspect might be a kidnapper, as evidence supporting the claim has not been found. The headquarters said further investigations are underway.
