
Commander Major (CSM) Eragbai E. Evborokhai became the first Nigerian-born history to lead the U.S. Army Infantry Regiment.
Apart from this groundbreaking achievement, Evborokhai also has the distinction of the most senior non-commissioned officer (NCO) in the Army, putting him at the forefront of addressing the concerns of all soldiers from enlisted personnel to generals.
As a senior recruiting consultant to any U.S. Army Division Commander, CSM Evborokhai plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication and addressing key issues affecting military personnel.
Born in Nigeria, he enlisted in 2001 and began his military career in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed one-stop infantry unit training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and has since held a range of key roles including rifleman, automatic rifleman, fire captain, squad leader, drilling sergeant, senior drilling sergeant and conduct Professional action.
His career led him to span multiple divisions of the United States Army, in Hawaii the 14th Infantry Regiment, the 25th Infantry Division, the 6th Infantry Regiment of the German Second Battalion and the 1st Battalion of Forest, Oklahoma 77th Corps. He also had the 4th Infantry Regiment of the Fourth Battalion and the 4th Cavalry Regiment of the 2nd Squadron in Brisburg, Texas, located in the 25th Infantry Division of Hawaii. Currently, he serves as commander of the 9th Battalion of the 4th Battalion of the 9th Infantry Regiment of Fort Carson, Colorado.
Evborokhai’s military education includes the Warrior Leadership Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Sgt. Large College and Ranger School. He also received foreign military training in Malaysia and Australia. Academically, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from the University of Maryland’s global campus, and a bachelor’s degree in workforce and leadership development from the School of Command and General Staff.
His extensive military awards include two meritorious medals, five Army commendation medals, six Army achievement medals, brave unit awards and combat infantry badges. CSM Eragbai Evborokhai is also an outstanding member of the Order of St. Morris.
