Ekiti State Police Command has arrested Olajobi Taiwan, a 19-year-old man, allegedly a 15-year-old girl.
Command spokesman Abutu revealed this on Sunday in a statement Thursday, March 13, 2025, saying the suspect committed the crime with his friend.
The Taiwan suspect was arrested at 11:40 hours on March 7, 2025 by agents from the division police headquarters Oke Ila, Ado Ekiti, at 11:40 hours.
“Investigation shows that the victim’s fear of being beaten by her mother for misconduct, fled the house and was only lured to their room by two suspects, where both of them knew her strongly,” the statement said.
“The case has been transferred to the state’s criminal investigation and intelligence department, state headquarters Ado Ekiti, for a thorough investigation.”
Abutu warned that residents “are law-abiding and prevent all forms of sexual crimes and other crimes. Those who find themselves will be booked accordingly.
