
The body of a middle-aged man identified as Kehinde Ijebu was found floating on the Ibokun River, Osun State Obokun Local Government Regional Headquarters.
According to the gathering, relatives have announced the deceased missing since Tuesday, May 6, 2025, but neighbors suspect he may have committed suicide.
Olawale Famuyatan, a resident of the community, said the deceased showed signs of depression a week before his disappearance. He added that at the moment he was found missing, some neighbors thought he had committed suicide.
“He was not known from Tuesday night until the next day. His relatives were worried until the next day. But his neighbors concluded that he had disappeared as before until Wednesday, when his body was noticed by Passersby on Wednesday, on which they were floating, they notified Vanguard in the community, he told Vanguard, who told Vanguard.
Another source who pleaded to anonymity revealed that the deceased had been finding symptoms of dementia until he was discovered @d. The source added that the deceased was buried beside the river next to his property.
Osun police spokesman DSP Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed the incident, saying police believed he was because there were no traces of violence in his body.
He added that the body was released for the family after insisting that they did not want any autopsy.
“The incident happened. There was no sign of violence in his body. The family approached us to bury him, but we suggested they opposed the autopsy. They said they wanted to bury him. I can’t say how he was burying him or burying. The investigation is still going on.” He said
