Now, Sean Pfeffer’s last social media post was written the day before he appeared.
In it, Mr. Pfeffer, who worked as a mechanic in Boulder Creek, claimed that he invited a man named James Collier to the area – but suggested that he had become a problem since then and began to put pressure on his cousin.
He wrote: “If I don’t work today, knowing it’s James Collier, that piece of nonsense I invited me to the mountain, that wasn’t left behind, working in my f****** cousin,” he said.
“I’ll get out of Jimmy now and hope you shoot me.”

The next day, March 23, highway patrol personnel responded to reports of two bodies in the area and found them under a 1988 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Court documents say the motorcycle has been taken to the scene by a tractor.
Detectives and crime scene investigators from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office were also on the scene, and three days later, the coroner’s report formally classified the incident as a double homicide.
It found that Mr. Pfeffer was from a “gunskin wound on the left chest” while Mr. White was “gunskin wounded” to his “trunk and upper left and lower limbs”.
Police have not yet stated what they believe is K lling’s motivation, although local reports say it could have focused on the property Collier refused to sell.
On April 9, a SWAT team and detective raided Collier’s home to arrest him on Sunday’s homicide with evidence.
Don Goodbrand, head of the Golden Gate division of the California Highway Patrol, said in a statement: “I want to praise our detectives to make them incredible dedication and excellent investigative efforts to keep the suspects in custody in this tragic case.
“The successful outcome would have been impossible without the outstanding partnership between the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
“We thank them for their cooperation and their strong commitment to justice.”
