
On Friday, the chief district court in Ikorodu, Lagos, custodged a 20-year-old man, Daniel Olojede, in a corrections center allegedly defiled a six-year-old girl.
Mr Olojede, who was not provided with address, is on trial for four charges of filth, indecent assault, child abuse and assault.
Chief Magistrate Ba Sonuga did not accept the defendant’s plea.
He remanded the defendant in the correctional facility and ordered the file to be sent to the office of the Lagos State Attorney (DPP) for legal advice.
Mr. Sonuga postponed the case until May 22, awaiting legal advice.
Earlier, prosecutor’s attorney ASP Aminu Isaac told the court that the defendant committed a crime on March 14 at Ajilo St., Oke-Oko, Ikorodu agricultural area.
He said the defendant also beat a four-year-old minor, the girl’s sibling, to touch him and kick him out of his father’s room.
According to the prosecutor, offences of violations of sections 137, 135, 135, 135, 135, 135 and 170 of the Lagos State Criminal Code, 2015.
