Man sentenced to D3ath, wife and brother-in-law in Lagos

The Lagos State High Court was chaired by Sherifat Sonaike, the Lagos State High Court, presided over by Justice Tafawa Balewa Square, who sentenced Benjamin Ogundero to D3ATH in April 2022 for hanging his wife Chinyere Ogundero and her brother Ifeanyi Joseph’s wife Chinyere Ogundero and her wife Chinyere Ogundero and her brother Ifeanyi Joseph.

The court ruled that Ogundero was guilty of two victims catching fire while sleeping at Abule Ado’s home in Lagos after a fierce domestic dispute.

Judge Sonaike made a verdict on Thursday, February 27, 2025, ruling that the prosecution had proved Ogundero intentionally planned and carried out the attack.

The judge described the act as “the evil of the highest order” and condemned his act as one of the most outrageous crimes a person could commit.

In court proceedings, Judge Sonack stressed that the evidence presented proved no doubt that Ogundro had committed an outrageous act.

“He designed, prepared and enforced the bill. The judge said it was the evil of the Supreme Order.

In addition to murder, Ogudro was also convicted of arson and sentenced to life imprisonment, which will begin from the date of conviction.

Mr. Martins Babajide, the prosecutor led by the prosecutor (DPP), argued that the man was angry at the fact that his wife owned the houses they lived in, who purchased them while working in the banking industry.

This anger is said to be a key factor in his decision to commit a crime.

Witnesses described a horror scene, one of which proved that Chinyere’s body was severely burned and limbs fell off. Ifeanyi Joseph d! It was from a severe burn, causing his body to stop circulation.

The court also heard from a neighbor who saw Ogundero running around the burning house with fuel gallons, further cementing his involvement in the crime.

Benjamin Ogundero’s actions were believed to be driven by personal dissatisfaction and anger, and the court found no remorse throughout the trial.
