    • The man who falsely claimed Senator Ned Nwoko hired him to kill his wife Regina Daniels has retracted his statement, expressing pain and admitting he did not know the couple.
    • In a video, the man said he never expected the serious consequences and announced that he was ready to face legal consequences for his false and damaging accusations.

The man who falsely claimed that Senator Ned Nwoko hired him to assassinate his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has released a new video retracting the allegation and expressing remorse for the consequences.

The man’s initial claims went viral on social media, prompting a strong response from Senator Nwoko, who subsequently called for stricter regulation of social media and threatened legal action against those spreading the slander.

In his latest statement, the man admitted he never anticipated the severity of the consequences and admitted not knowing the couple he was accusing. He said he was willing to accept any punishment for his actions.

“I’m ready to face the consequences. Whatever is meant to happen should happen occur. I never knew things would turn out like this. I don’t know Ned Nowoko and Regina Daniel” the man said in the video.

In other news,… Nollywood icon Antar Laniyan has sparked widespread reactions after revealing the unusual and emotional story behind his name.

The actor shared the story on an episode of Behind the Fame, where he talked about his late mother and the extraordinary experiences surrounding his birth. Ranyan recalled that, according to his mother, he stayed in her womb for 18 months, well beyond the typical length of pregnancy.

The unusual delay has caused concern in their community, with many believing the condition may have psychiatric rather than medical repercussions.

In the interview, Ranyan explained that his mother was advised to eat a creature called anta, a lizard-like animal in Yoruba tradition believed to induce labor. She followed the advice and had the animal cooked for her, and remarkably, he was born about an hour after she ate it.

Because of that experience, his mother chose to name him after the creature.

Ranyan said the name means a lot to him and is a reminder of the sacrifices his mother made. He noted that people often don’t realize what their mothers went through to bring them into this world.

He added that the name was not always spelled as it is today. As a child, he was teased by his classmates, prompting him to add the letter “R,” thus changing his original name to “Antar.”

    In his original words:

“There’s a story behind it and I like to tell it sometimes because I want everyone to know the importance of having a mother: a good mother, a great mother.

“What our mothers went through before giving birth to us, we don’t know because we weren’t there. But when your mother tells you how you grew up, you cry for yourself.

“I stayed in my mother’s womb for too long; 18 months, according to her. People around me were wondering what was wrong. I mean, there must be something wrong, not something medical. So it could be mental. She had to eat something called anta in Yoruba. It looked like a lizard and was smaller than a crocodile.

“So my mom didn’t see anything wrong with adding that name to my name. She had to accept it. They had to prepare it for her. She accepted it. An hour later, here I was. When I was in elementary school, my friends were playing with the name and I added an R to make it Antar.”

The video went viral, sparking discussions about cultural practices, maternal sacrifice and the actor’s extraordinary birth story.
