Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola won a game ban in the FA Cup quarterfinals that beat Bournemouth 2-1 on Sunday.
Referee Stuart Atwell warned Pep Guardiola about objection after a foul during the game. Unfortunately, Haaland had to leave the field due to a noticeable knee injury from Lewis Cook’s tackle.
As Bournemouth continued to play, Hyland said it was a substitute, which led to a violent reaction from city players. Kevin de Bruyne expressed concerns about Cook, while Guardiola expressed frustration, leading to his booking.
The yellow card marks Guardiola’s third time this season, meaning he will be out of the contact line when City faces Leicester in the Premier League on Wednesday. He was warned in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September and beat Fulham 3-2 in October.
In a positive response to the game, Guardiola praised Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin de Bruyne for their contributions in securing their place in the FA Cup semifinals. He stressed the importance of experience and young players, noting that “Today, Bernardo, Gundo and Kevin – they’re really good.”
Looking ahead, Manchester City will prepare for the next match against Leicester City in the Premier League before playing the semi-final against Nottingham Forest in April.
