Marcus Rashford’s incredible season with Aston Villa is over and the England star is injured.
Marcus Rashford is reportedly dealing with a hamstring injury, which could rule him out for the rest of the Premier League season. Aston Villa will conduct further testing to determine the severity of the problem.
Rashford has been a great performer since joining Aston Villa from Manchester United in January, with four goals and six assists in 17 games. However, with only four games left this season, he seems to have played his last game for the club.
As Rashford was not eligible to play against Manchester United, his mother club, as he was on the final day of the season. He also missed Aston Villa’s FA Cup semifinals to beat Crystal Palace because of reported injuries. Manager Unai Emery confirmed his absence and handed the starting role to Ollie Watkins, who could not find the back of the net when Villa exited the game. Before the setback, Rashford has been around every game since his arrival.
Aston Villa is currently ranked seventh in the league standings, winning a good position for European qualifications. However, Rashford’s campaign for the next season remains uncertain as he evaluated his options ahead of the summer transfer window. The forward is reportedly keen on participating in the Champions League.
Returning to Manchester United seems unlikely as Rashford and manager Ruben Amorim disagree on work ethics and attitudes during training. These problems led to Rashford leaving the club.
Another Manchester United lender, Anthony, is expected to leave the club this summer. Antony joined Real Betis in January after a tough start to the Premier League season, thriving in Spain, recording nine goals contributions in 18 matches.
