Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix, and he won despite winning Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s McLarens.
It was Max Verstappen’s fourth straight win at Suzuki, but his first year brought him to a little bit of Norris’ head on the driver’s championship.
Verstappen led two McLaren drivers as the first driver, and the three drivers worked closely together. McLaren has played “virtual” stop for two laps on Norris, while Norris is in 1.5 seconds at Verstappen.
What does Max Verstappen have to say about his victory in Suzuki?
After the game, he expressed his excitement and thanked his team for their support during the game.
“It was tough, just really hard on the last set. The two McLarens pushed me very hard. I was so happy. It was very tough this weekend, but we didn’t give up, we continued to improve the car and today was in the best form. It was very important to start from the pole.”
Lewis Hamilton, who has an alternative tire strategy, ranked eighth on the grid, leading the Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar early in the race.
