
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Deputy Admiral Onok Ete Ibas as the sole executive of Rivers State on Tuesday, March 18.
The appointment was appointee in the case of a state of emergency declared by Rivers State and suspended for six months in the state’s deputy and 27 lawyers manufacturer Siminalayi Fubara.
In a statement, President Tinob announced the appointment of the state’s sole administrator
“At the same time, I hereby nominate Deputy Admiral Ibokette Ibas (RTD) as administrator for the national affairs, in the interests of the good people of Livers.
To avoid doubt, the statement will not affect the judiciary of the river state, which will continue to operate in accordance with its constitutional mandate. ”
IBOK-ETE EKWE IBAS CFR was born on September 27, 1960. He is a retired deputy admiral of the Navy and he is the 22nd chief of the Nigerian Navy Chief of Staff (CNS) from 2015 to 2021. IBAS will be from 2021 to 2021.
He enlisted on June 20, 1979 as a member of 26 regular courses and was appointed Vice-President on January 1, 1983.
He began his primary education in 1966 at NKO Primary School in NKO and completed it in 1971 at Grand Qua Primary School in Calabar.
He then traveled to the Hope Waddell Training Academy Calabar from 1972 to 1976. From 1977 to 1979, he attended the School of Basic Research before heading to the Nigerian National Defense Academy in 1979.
IBAS has participated in several military courses at home and abroad, including the Technical Course of the Sloyd University held at INS Venduruthy in India from April 1983 to May 1984, and the Junior Pilot Training Schools at 301 primary school flight training schools at Nigeria Air Force Base from April 1986 to October 1986 to October 1987.
He entered the Armed Forces Command and Staff Academy in Jaji, Kaduna in January 1990, and completed the junior staff course in June of the same year.
In July 1992, he reported at the U.S. Marine Corps Amphibious War School in Quantico, USA, and obtained a diploma in Amphibious War in May 1993.
From August 1996 to July 1997, he returned to the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff Academy Jaji, where he completed his senior staff course with outstanding results.
He is also an alumnus of the National Defense Academy of Islamabad, Pakistan, and has participated in the national defense course from August 2005 to June 2006. In addition, he holds a Master of Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Ibas has appointed several appointments in the Nigerian Navy. As a mid-sized crew, he has served in NNS Ruwan Yaro, NNS Obuma and Nns Aradu. Later, he was appointed Sub-Lieutenant as watch officer at NNS AYAM and NNS EKPE.
Later, he would serve as executive officer of NNS Siri, NNS Ekun and NNS Ambe between July 1993 and August 1996, as a lieutenant. From August 1997 to September 1998, he was the commander of the Nigerian Navy Underwater Warfare School, and from September 1998 to June 2000, he was the commander of Ibaka.
Due to his outstanding performance in the Senior Staff Program, he was appointed as a supervisor at the Jaji Armed Forces Command and Staff Academy from June 2000 to June 2002. Later, he returned to the academy in January 2009 as Director of the Maritime War Department, his deputy commander from November 2010 to January 2014.
Ibas was the Marshal of the Navy’s Academician from April 2003 to June 2004, and later the then Chief Chief of Staff of the CNS from June 2004 to July 2005. He was the command and operation officer of the Western Naval Command at the Lagos headquarters, and from June 2006 to December 2006, from December 2006 to January 2009, he was the commander of the Naval Aviation Base.
The senior official was subsequently appointed Chief Chief of Staff, Headquarters of the Naval Training Command in Lagos, from September 2010 to March 2011. In recognition of his versatility in employee responsibilities and management, the senior official was first appointed as the Navy Headquarters, from March 2012 to February 2012 to February 2012 to January 2012 to January 2012 to January 2012 to January 2013.
He has since become a flag officer in command of the commander of the Western Navy from January 2013 to January 2014. He was appointed Director of Logistics in February 2014 and then was appointed GMD/CEO of Nigeria Naval Holdings Limited in December of the same year. This was his appointment until he was appointed Chief of Staff on July 13, 2015.
In October 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari awarded the honors of Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFR) (CFR) commander.
IBA has members of several well-known professional organizations, such as the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and the Nigerian Institute of Management. Ibas also participated in some seminars and exhibitions at home and abroad.
He participated in the 25th International Homeland Security Exhibition and the 3rd International Operations Department in Tel Aviv, Israel in June 2011. In August 2012, he also took the London International Leadership Program in London, UK.
His ability development course held at the Harvard Kennedy School in January 2013, thus making him an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School in the United States. He participated in a Naval Engineering and Logistics Workshop at the Naval Dock in Lagos in February 2013.
