Nigerian TikTok star and content creator Pele received widespread attention online after receiving a staggering gift worth more than £200 million from an anonymous Chinese user during a live broadcast.
A recently released video revealed the identity of the generous donor, sparking curiosity and surprise among fans.
This video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by social media influencer @AsakyGRN, showcases the huge number of contributors behind it. The influencer wrote:
“For those who are talking about money laundering, this is the Chinese man who gave away 11 million coins to Peller on TikTok last night. He is a level 50 gifter, the second highest level on the platform. This guy is really big.”
Peller, who only recently started participating in TikTok challenges, explained that the gift came as a complete surprise to him during one of his live sessions. Level 50 gifters sent a total of 11 million TikTok coins, equivalent to approximately $143,000 (approximately ₦208 million).
He added that TikTok charges a 50% commission on virtual gifts, leaving him with about $71,500 (£103m).
“Even after being cut off from the platform, it was life-changing,” Peller said with visible emotion during the live broadcast. “I’ve never experienced anything like this before.”
The generous gesture comes just days after Peller participated in the Hallelujah Challenge, a popular midnight worship and prayer event organized by gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey that has recently taken social media by storm.
Peller said participating in the Hallelujah Challenge brought significant positive changes to his life.
He said:
“I joined the challenge on Monday night. Since then, my TikTok live has taken off – over 100,000 people have watched it, the gifts have been pouring in, and my income has skyrocketed. It’s been incredible.”

@Gabrieldalinho: “For those who are still doubtful, not everyone is broke and everything is not money laundering, when the Arabs came to the competition they had 50 million coins, just say Peller opponents don’t put Bodi himself aside, the man carried 3 mobile phones waiting to reach 40 million coins”
@Oluwaphilemon1: “Good thing. But what I care about is how he spends the money. Invest it and make the most of it.”
@DrYemiObGynae: “What does the gift giver get for me please? I really want to know. Because why would I exchange my money for coins and then give it to someone saying ‘tap tap tap’ without adding any value.”
