
The regional assembly of local governments of Shira, Bauchi State dismissed Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli and his agent Hon. Usman Adamu, from the office.
After an investigation by a committee, their dismissal found they guilty of serious misconduct, poor financial management, failure to perform duties and abuse of duties.
Resolution signed by 10 members of parliament, including council leader Hon. Wali Adamu and his agent formally announced the posts of Chairman and Vice-Chairman and immediately announced the Vice-Chairman.
“Based on the findings of the Commission on Inquiry, the Commission determined that the Chairman and his deputy had mismanaged financial management, failed to perform their duties, violated their trust and abused their posts,” the resolution said.
Introducing the development to reporters, the head of the council said that both Bailey and Adamu were under increasing scrutiny in the management of local government affairs. He said that despite several warnings, they failed to perform their duties and lost the trust of the Shira people, making them inevitably dismissal.
