Experienced Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, commonly known as Mi Abaga, publicly regrets his past support for all the Progress Conference (APC) during the 2015 election.

Speaking in a recent episode Plumism Podcast, highly acclaimedAfrican Rapper No. 1“Revealed that his decision to support the party at the time was due to the frustration of corruption perceived within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at that time.

“Yes, I support APC because at the time, I felt that the PDP government was very corrupt. I was one of those who raised their voices to call for change and democracy.” Mi explained.

The rapper recalled the backlash he faced in the following years, especially after commenting on the herder attacks in Benue State. According to him, many Nigerians were quick to remind him of his political stance, partly attributed to his current challenges.

Reflecting on his choice, Mi Abaga admits it was a mistake and points out that APC no longer embodies the values and commitments he won his support a decade ago.

“As a person, you try to do the right things, but sometimes you get wrong. Unfortunately, APC is not the APC I dreamt about.” He said.

Now, MI says his focus has been transformed from politics to nation-building through music, advocating and empowering youth. He stressed the importance of using his platform to inspire positive change and put leaders in charge while supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing young people in Nigeria.
