Michelle Obama revealed a trait of her husband, Barack Obama, who has been nervous for years.
She spoke with brother Craig Robinson at the premiere of Wednesday’s joint podcast “IMO.”
“Barak, you know, he has to adapt to my punctuality,” the 61-year-old former first lady told her brother Craig Robinson.
“Because he was in that island era,” Robinson, 62, added Barack’s lack of punctuality, citing his brother-in-law’s Hawaiian roots.
Michelle recalls “when should I leave,” and she will notice Barack “get up and go to the bathroom” and do other things that might make them late.
She added: “I was like, ‘Man, a 3-point departure means you’ve done everything,’ you know, like, don’t start looking for glasses when you set off at 3.”
But Michelle gave Barack the honors because he said: “His marriage has improved for 30 years, but it’s ‘you have to adjust.”
Michelle said their daughters — Malia Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23, knew their mom likes to be on time, so they would be “early” whenever they “do anything” with her.
“They have learned how to snap up,” the mom of both added.
