Michelle Obama revealed three cruel words about her husband Barack after his mom Marian Robinson passed away in May 2024.
On Wednesday’s “IMO” podcast by former First Lady and her brother Craig Robinson, Michelle recalls her conversation with the 44th president of the United States.
She said her husband told her “you are next” after her mother passed away.
She said: “I think if there is any, mom’s loss, I think–Thank God, you are my brother, I have an older husband.”
“Barak said, you know, “Okay, you’ll get up next. “I was like, “I’m not really ready for the next step,” I told him, “You get up next, Craig is next.” “I will entrust you this power.
Michelle confirmed on social media at the time that Robinson died last May at the age of 86. Their father, Fraser C Robinson, died in 1991 at the age of 55.
She continued on Wednesday’s podcast: “That’s really where your parents are not managing and maintaining when you’re adult.”
“But it will happen at some point, each of us, in our own lives, we become parents, we become conveners, we become glue.”
The siblings admitted on the show that after losing both parents, these positions were “big shoes to fill.”
Michelle continued, “This is a major change in your life.” “I don’t care how old you are. Mom and Dad are mom and Dad. Even if I take care of my mom, I still have to listen to her. I could bring her to her, but in the end, she was my mother.
“There is a level of comfort, knowing how wise or experienced I am in the world, and mom always knows more.”
When Michelle revealed that she began treatment to help transition to the “next phase” of her life, her candid discussion about her mother’s death came.
