A man from the Ogun State Police Command arrested Olayemi Yusuf, a 30-year-old Indrive driver, on suspicion of kidnapping.
The suspect reportedly deviated from the expected route and kidnapped himself on her, restricting her with a wire clip.
National Police Command spokesman Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident and arrested Daily Post, noting that the incident occurred at around 3 p.m. on Monday, March 24.
Yusuf deviated from the road while still carrying the 22-year-old passenger, believed to be a peaceful passenger in Lagos, to the Freedom Way in Lekki, she said.
He blamed it on a malfunction in his navigation system.
She said;
On March 24, 2025, about 1,500 hours, officials received information about suspicious vehicles on Ohul Iloguebo Road, Ogun State. The swift police response led to the rescue of victim Kutropus peaceful “F” (22 years old).

Preliminary investigations show that the victim booked a ride through the online car service in Lekki to Lekki’s Freedom Way. However, on the road, the driver claimed his navigation system had malfunctioned and deviated from the expected route.
” He then suppressed the victim with two plastic tire clips and restrained her hands.
Odutola added that after arriving at the Omowo fill station at OTA ILOGBO ROAD, the victim raised an alarm, which attracted the attention of Passersby, who intervened and attacked the suspect before police arrived at the scene.
She noted that the suspect is currently in police custody after investigation.
