“On September 11, 2023, I was dealing with my admission fee in Cotonou. When I came back I saw that the expenses were not called and I called him back. Then he told me that I should come to treat someone whose friend had been cut in the house. I told him I just came back from Cotonou.
“I missed his phone later because I couldn’t answer. When I arrived at CMS, DJ BAMI called and he introduced himself from the expense. I couldn’t go to the house that day. The next day, I got there at about 2:30 pm. I met a guy carrying Liam in the living room, DJ Bami led me upstairs.
“When I arrived at Mohbad’s room, I saw some DJ Bami motorcycle water on the floor. Then we moved Mohbad from his room to another room. There were only four of us upstairs. I, Mohbad, Djbami and Wunmi. When I gave my first injection, Mohbad asked me about the type of injection I was going to give him, and I told him about tetanus, paracetamol injection and antibiotics. I gave him tetanus and paracetamol injection first. After I gave him paracetamol injection, Wanmi said he had an ulcer.
“When I gave him a third injection, he started to react and said he wanted to throw it away. Djbami and Wunmi took him to the bathroom he threw. After throwing it away, he sat on the floor, very weak. Then, a goose lump appeared inside him. Wunmi told me that this was how he reacted to the injection and I told her she should tell me.
“Then she said he would calm down if they poured water on his head. Then, Wonmi poured water at him. When I saw the geese bump, DJ Bami and I quickly came down to the pharmacy so that we could get the antidote. We went to the first pharmacy, but they didn’t have what they wanted and went to another pharmacy. They called Mohbad’s twitching house from the house and I told them to rush him to the hospital.”
After cross-examination by the Mohabd family’s attorney, Dr. Wahab Shittu; Omowunmi’s attorney Kabir Akingbolu; and the state’s case, adjourned to Friday, March 21, 2024, for further hearings.
