Police say a mom who manages to beat cancer is K!
Jennifer James opened fire on April 28 when he allegedly parked 20-year-old Ebenezer Worku outside the victim’s house in Berthoud, north of Denver on April 28.
The gunman told police he accidentally fired at home with a Glock 22 pistol – and then fired again while he was trying to clean up the room, citing police affidavits.
Police said one of the bullets ripped out of the window and eventually hit James in his arms and chest.
The mother and the four managed to call 911 and then fell down and stopped breathing.
First aid staff tried first aid, but she was declared de@d at the scene.
Police said her two children were at home at the time of the shooting.
“It makes me angry, this meaningless violence happened,” said Ashley James, James’ eldest daughter.
“You never think it will happen to you.”
Her family said the murdered mother defeated cancer four times.
“She is the most selfless mom anyone can ask for,” Ashley said. “She is a little committed to our kids, so I will always be grateful for everything she has done for us.”
After police used surveillance video and license plate reader data to track him, she called K!
Worku is charged with first-degree murder. He was booked in the Larrymer County Jail and was detained on a $1.25 million pure cash margin.
