    • A confused mother sought advice after her eight-year-old son received a Valentine’s Day gift and received a call from a male classmate asking if she should speak to the boy’s parents or inform his teacher.
    • She said she would easily understand the gesture if it came from a girl, but wasn’t sure what it meant if it came from another boy so young.

A mother took to social media to seek advice after her eight-year-old son came home from school with an unexpected Valentine’s Day gift from a male classmate.

According to her, the boy gave her son a gift that included two rings and a note asking him to keep one and return the other if he accepted the friendship. The note also called her son his “favorite.”

The mother admitted she was confused about how to handle the situation. She said she would easily understand the gesture if it came from a girl, but wasn’t sure what it meant if it came from another boy so young.

She is now asking whether she should speak to the other child’s parents directly or raise the issue with her son’s class teacher first. Her post has since sparked mixed reactions online.

In other news… Social media activist VeryDarkMan caused an uproar online after criticizing reports of the arrest of Nasir El-Rufai by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

In a post that went viral, he described the agency as “the most corrupt institution in Nigeria”, claiming its actions were politically motivated. He claimed that El-Rufai was not investigated when he supported Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections, but is now being targeted for allegedly opposing Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.

VeryDarkMan insists the situation proves his long-held belief that anti-corruption enforcement in the country is selective and politically influenced.

In the video he can be heard saying:
“I will always say this, the EFCC is the most corrupt institution in Nigeria. Their arrest of Nasir El-Rufai proves me right. When he campaigned for Bola Tinubu in 2023, they did not arrest him for corruption or embezzlement, but now that he is opposing Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, they suddenly decided to go after him.”
