Multichoice has announced new price increases for DSTV and GOTV packages.
Nigeria News Nalin The report said that as PayTV company announced the price increase that it will take effect from March 1, 2025, subscribers to Multichoice’s DSTV and GOTV services will have to pay more for their packages.
The statement, titled “Price adjustments for DSTV and GOTV packages”, reads: “Dear customers, please note that on March 1, 2025, all DSTV packages will be priced. This is to make We are able to continue to provide our customers with world-class local and international content that we provide with the best technology.”
This increase came nearly a year after the company’s last price review and reflected an increase in operating costs.
Multichoice attributes hiking to economic pressures, including the depreciation of the Naira and high inflation, which greatly impacts its operations in Nigeria.
Under the new pricing structure, the DSTV compact bouquet will rise from N15,700 to N19,000, while the compact Plus package will now cost N30,000. Premium subscription will be increased to N44,500.
For GOTV subscribers, subscribers in the GOTV Jinja package will now pay N3,900, which is higher than N3,600. The GOTV Plus package will be increased from N4,850 to N5,800, while the GOTV Max will now cost N8,500. The GOTV SUPA and SUPA Plus packages are priced at N11,400 and N16,800, respectively.
Multichoice has been defending its price adjustments, which shows that economic reality makes services operating in Nigeria more expensive. The company insists that price reviews are necessary to maintain their products and ensure continued access to quality content.
