My father gave me a lot of negative energy

Nigerian comedian Bovi talked frankly about his tension with his late father, revealing that “negative energy” is a pattern in his family.

In the first live version of the Withchude Podcast, Bovi shares that his father passed on the same emotional luggage as he inherited.

In his words:

“What makes my late father’s relationship difficult is what they call the family pattern or what the church calls the “generational curse.”
My father gave me what he has, and what he has is a lot of negative energy. That’s for him too. I chose to be a stop. ”

He admitted that he had talked about a relationship in a painful place, but chose to forgive his father before he died in February 2025.

“When I once told this story, I was used to playing the victim and talking about ruthless relationships. I spoke from a very painful place.
But I had forgiven him long ago. Starting from 2021, he is sick. My siblings and I are taking care of him. I’m taking care of him with all my love. It’s not difficult for me to take care of him. ”
