Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold Onuwaje has been in mourning following the sudden death of her father on Boxing Day, December 26, 2025.

The award-winning actress shared the devastating news via social media on Saturday, calling the loss the realization of her “biggest fear.”

In a touching post that went viral, Liz Gold described her late father as more than just a parent, calling him her “significant partner.” She said she was deeply shocked that he would not be able to enter the new year with his family as planned.

“My worst fear happened to me…death hit me hard. My dad passed away. He left us yesterday. This was not dad’s plan. You were supposed to go into the new year with your kids. My heart is broken. My spirit partner is gone so I never see you again? Oh my god…can I get through this? Can I get through this pain???”
