Linda Stephen, a 37-year-old woman, divorced her husband Felix Stephen, who had sought divorce from Kaduna’s customary court on the grounds that his S3xual requests were too much and suspected of physical abuse.
In her petition, Linda, a resident of Ungwan in Kaduna, told the court that she could no longer cope with her husband’s constant demand for the S3X, which she thought was unbearable.
“I urge the court to dissolve the marriage because I can’t stand his excessive sexual desire. He likes S3X too much, and I can’t stand it.” She further claimed that Felix often allowed her to conduct long S3xual activities even when she was in trouble.
“Most of the time, from midnight to early morning, he would be with me. Even if I cry, he wouldn’t stop.
She added: “It’s been three months since I moved out of his house. His relatives have been begging me to go back and find him, but they don’t know what I’m facing.”
Linda also accused her husband of resorting to violence when he refused to make progress, saying he beat her in front of two children.
In his defense, Felix admitted his actions but begged the court not to approve his wife’s request, expressing his willingness to change.
He said: “I took my uncle and friend to her parents’ house to beg her. But she refused to listen to us; instead, she walked out.” He further begged the court time to reconcile with his wife and assured them that he was ready to control his S3xual urging.
John Dauda presided over the case and adjourned the matter until May 6 to allow reconciliation efforts, urging both sides to maintain peace during this period.
