NAFDAC National Food and Drug Administration and Control Agency have sealed a supermarket in Metama, Abuja, for the sale and distribution of prohibited, unregistered and forged regulatory products.
Supermarkets also hindered NAFDAC officials when carrying out regulatory actions, a statement from the agency said.
During its initial visit, NAFDAC said its inspectors found several items that were not registered.
“The supermarket management refused to comply despite being invited to the agency for further investigation. This prompted the law enforcement team to follow up, during which the team also faced obstacles. ”
Items seized from the house include unregistered pet food, soap that is prohibited from being imported, and counterfeit or re-grilled rice, the agency added.
