As Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa announced, the National Association of Polytechnical Students (NAP) rejected Yabatech’s proposed conversion to the university.

According to Alausa, President Bola Tinubu approved the conversion.

“B.Tech’s transitional HND is the most feasible way to improve the status of science and technology education while retaining its technological nature.”

The nap also called on President Tinob to reconsider the decision, warning them that they would mobilize tech students across the country to resist the move.
